What you just did

  • Heat is a form of energy. It flows from the hotter object to the colder one when they are in contact.
  • Gains heat → temperature increases. Loses heat → temperature decreases.
  • The bigger the temperature difference, the faster the heat flows — that is why the stove is so fierce and the last few degrees are so slow.
  • Nothing can get hotter than its heat source: the 60 °C water can never take food past 60 °C.
